FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about our props, the lights, conventions and orders. Don't see your question? Email us.

Are these real weapons?

No. Every piece is a non-functional prop. Nothing fires, launches or shoots, and there are no working mechanisms beyond the lights and the trigger switch.

Every blaster has a blaze-orange tip so it's always clear it's a prop.

Can I bring one to a convention?

Our props are built to be con-friendly: lightweight, no projectiles, and a blaze-orange tip. Every convention sets its own prop-weapon rules though, so check your event's policy before you go, and don't remove or paint over the orange tip.

What are they made of?

Each prop is 3D printed, then sanded, primed, hand painted, weathered and clear coated. The glowing parts are printed in translucent plastic so the LEDs shine through.

How do the lights work?

Built-in LEDs run from a rechargeable battery hidden inside the prop, and you charge it over USB-C. A switch turns it on, and the trigger sets off the firing effect.

When can I buy one?

The Volt Wasp Mk1 is in its final prototype stage. Join the waitlist on the homepage and you'll hear when the first batch is ready, before it goes on sale anywhere else.

Can I choose the colours or order a custom build?

Yes. LED colour (cyan, pink, purple or white) and paint finish can be customised, and we take on custom builds for characters and original designs. Email us with what you have in mind and any reference pictures.

Are they suitable for children?

They're display and cosplay props, not toys. They contain small parts and a rechargeable battery, so keep them away from young children.

What happened with the Mk2?

We can't comment on an ongoing investigation.
